Q: What does a typical speech therapy program look like?
Every speech therapy program will begin with at least 20 minutes speech and language assessment to evaluate the communication needs. Based on the evaluation result, a more thorough assessment may be required to determine the objectives of the therapy program.
Throughout the program, every progress will be noted by our experienced speech therapist and the progress milestones will be updated.
Q: How long to complete a typical therapy program?
All of our speech therapists will not resume the speech therapy program when all progress milestones have been achieved, unless requested for enrichment purposes. This is the ethical requirement that bound all of our speech therapists in order to continue practicing their passion in this profession.
Q: Are speech and language activities covered by OHIP?
No, OHIP does not cover speech and language services. However, many private insurance benefits cover some amount of speech and language services.
